Ryan Mullins, ACSW
Associate Therapist
Often when life is nudging us toward growth, there’s a sense of a “gap” between where we are and where we want to be. I work with adolescents, transitional age youth, and adults in navigating the complexities of anxiety, depression, and significant life transitions. I also work with couples to help bridge gaps in communication and conflict resolution. My goal is to work with you on your path towards a life that feels purposeful and grounded in what matters most to you, even when you are presented with challenges or external circumstances outside of your control.
I strive to create a space where you feel seen and any gaps you might be feeling are validated, while ensuring you feel supported in taking steps towards a life that is authentic to your values. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as an evidence-based modality and draw on techniques from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to aid you on your path. I also use various techniques for Trauma-Focused Treatment.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with people from diverse backgrounds and ages. I’ve supported individuals in crisis and following crisis stabilization in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I’ve assisted individuals confronted with a number of different challenges including suicidal ideation, trauma, chronic pain, and substance use. My experience has informed a person-centered approach and an understanding that each individual has a unique set of circumstances and life stressors they are presented with, as well as values that can serve as their compass.
Prior to my clinical journey, I’ve spent a number of years working in education. Outside of the office, I like to start my days with a meditation practice followed by a good cup of coffee. I find joy in paddling out with friends and going to concerts. I like pushing myself out of my comfort zone in exploring surf towns and cities in other countries. I also appreciate winding down to watch a good movie or cheer on my favorite sports teams. I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW #112401).
