Nick Cohen, APCC, AMFT

Associate Therapist

I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, eating disorders, OCD, trauma, life transitions and more. I believe therapy works best when it’s collaborative — when you feel genuinely understood and supported in building the life you actually want to live.

My approach is rooted in existential and humanistic therapy, which means I believe you have the freedom and responsibility to shape your life with purpose. Rather than pathologizing your struggles, I help you explore what’s meaningful to you and what might be getting in the way. I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you clarify your values and move toward them, even in the presence of difficult emotions or experiences. I also draw on additional training in CBT and DBT to provide practical, evidence-based tools when they’re helpful.

Clients describe me as calm, grounded, and genuinely curious. I take a “fellow traveler” mindset, recognizing that therapy is a collaborative journey where your insights and goals guide the way. I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can slow down, feel truly heard, and make meaningful changes at a pace that feels right for you.

Before transitioning to mental health, I spent over a decade in the advertising world. These days, I’m passionate about creative pursuits, spending time with my three cats, and exploring what helps people live authentically. Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC#20705) and Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT#158287).
