Treatment modalities I use include Somatic Experiencing, CBT, and Narrative Therapy. I am an experienced therapist specializing in stress and trauma. My comprehensive background means I can support you in therapy in a few different ways, so that we make change that is lasting. In whatever way you are suffering, I am here to support you.
I am trained in Somatic Experiencing which means I consider your nervous systems activation in response to stress or trauma. I enjoy helping clients learn grounding tools which help them feel confident in their ability to remain regulated and in-control of their emotions in any situation. I also use CBT skills to help client gain practical tools of noticing and challenging their thoughts in order to ease anxiety and see situations more accurately. Finally, I am trained in Narrative Therapy which means I believe: people are not problems– problems are problems. We work together to examine the stories of your lives and create new ‘preferred stories’. I come from a strengths based approach and can help you leverage your skills, your values, and your truest hopes to find clarity and peace.
I work with a range of struggles such as anxiety, depression, chronic worry or stress, relationship conflict, eating disorders, addiction, grief, difficult family dynamics, and PTSD.
I collaborate and set goals with my clients, listen empathetically, and prioritize safety and trust. Through counseling my clients find they are more aware of their strengths and intrinsic value, are closer to reaching their potential, and can move through life able to handle the range of emotions inherent to the human condition.
